Following the Nuremberg Trials, which dealt with the crimes of the Nazis, many countries acknowledged the need for an international system of dealing with crimes against humanity. Today, the International Criminal Court investigates issues such as genocide in Sudan and the Lord’s Resistance Army in Uganda.
