Providing the training and skills that are necessary to become a Patient Care Technician, this program focuses on essential skill building that includes courses in occupational therapy, radiology and geriatric skills. Students are also given detailed instruction in other important aspects of advanced home health care such as CPR training, body system structure and function, and HIV/AIDS awareness. Graduates can find employment in a variety of settings that include hospitals, medical offices, living facilities and much more. Graduates are qualified to take the Florida Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) and Home Health Aide (HHA) certification exams and the National Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) examination. Exams must be passed before certifications are awarded.

Patient Care Technicians are also known as Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and Home Health Aides (HHA), After obtaining appropriate certification, you may work in a variety of settings that include homes, hospitals, offices, and living facilities. As a Patient Care Technician, you are part of a team that provides health care services and is responsible for a patient’s care, well-being and recovery.
Our program is designed to give you a comprehensive education as a Patient Care Technician, focusing on essential skill building that includes Occupational Therapy, Radiology, Respiratory and Geriatric Skills, advanced home health aide and CPR training and HIV/AIDS Awareness training.
