Medical Coding and Billing
Program Description: The 900 clock hour program includes 870 classroom hours and 30 hours of computer lab. This Program is designed to educate the student in all the aspects of general medical billing/coding and hospital coding. The program provides the student with the skills expected by medical employers and prepares him/her to function as a healthcare professional in a variety of medical settings. The student learns anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, medical records, medical terminology, billing and insurance coding systems, and ICD-9 and/or CPT codes. The program is instructed through the use of textbooks, lecture sessions, videos, and lab practice. The Billing and Coding program must be completed in 30 weeks.
Program Objective: Upon completion of the 900 clock hour Medical Biller-Coder program, the graduate receives a diploma and is eligible to take the National Certified Medical Insurance and the graduate is eligible to take the National ( CPC/ CPC-H Hospital) Coding examinations through the American Academy of Professional Coders to become Nationally Certified for private practice coding and hospital coding.
