Having a family and being able to balance everything in life can be a challenge at times. How do you manage to keep everybody happy while trying to get a college degree?

You get help from all members of your family. They have to know going into it that you will need to take time for homework and classes. College is important so they have to be on board.

It is not a personal undertaking when you have a family already. Everyone should take responsibility for it and should help out to make it successful.

The first think I did was decided that it is not even possible to perfectly balance school, life and kids. At that point I realized that it was a huge undertaking and that I could only try my best.

You can't keep everybody happy. I think smartiepants is right. The entire family needs to understand the sacrifices that every family member has to make. Only then will everyone be happy.

A friend of mine has been working on her doctoral degree, and she confesses that it's hard work juggling her day job, her studies, and her husband and two kids. But she has strong support from her husband and her immediate family, so she is able to get things done without heavily sacrificing one aspect.

Definitely having a strong support system form your husband/wife is essential! I also feel that you should ensure that you do not ignore your family members while you are in school. Carve out times for study and times to spend with family. This way they will respect the time you spend away from them.
