Has anyone ever considered studying on a ship for a semester? I had a friend who did a semester at sea program and loved it! I don't think I'd be able to be confined for that long on a ship with a ton of college kids!

It doesn't sound like fun to me but maybe that's because I'm not a big fan of ships. It sounds cramped to me. Is everybody there taking the same classes or program? What kinds of programs do they offer?

I always thought it'd be really fun! The only reason I didn't do it was because I've never been on a big ship before and I was worried I'd have major seasickness problems.

Yikes, I think that would drive me a little crazy. It would be great for a week maybe, but after that I think I'd get a bad case of cabin fever. I don't like the idea of being trapped. Being trapped with work is even worse, hehe.

The Semester at Sea ships are really huge, though, and I think yous top off at ports and stuff pretty often. It's not like they're trapping you on a ship for four months. ;)

A workshop on ways to come up with good prop and op extensions would be great

No way! I got sick on the Maid of the Mist at Niagara Falls, can you imagine me on a ship? I didn't even know they had college courses on ships on at sea. I hope my kids don't get wind of that!

A semester at sea would be really cool. I never knew you could do that. I wonder what kind of studies they offer. Does anybody have any more information about studying on a boat?

Where do I sign up? I've never heard of this. What type of courses are available? This must be something similar to studying abroad. Do you also have to work while on the ship?
