Does anyone know what kind of a break on tuition families of university employees get? I'm thinking it wouldn't include anything for housing because if the parent can work there the kid should be able to commute but I'm not sure.
It depends on what type of college it is. If it's a state college I believe that they get a break on part of the tuition. I know that I once applied to work for a State college because my courses would have been paid for.
I had a friend whose parent worked for the university, and I think basically almost all his classes were paid for by the school. I think he only had to pay fees and for his textbooks, commute, etc. Housing wasn't covered.
I think it depends on the school. But it seems to me that most often I've heard that state schools often give a break on tuition, whereas private colleges are more likely to waive tuition for the children of employees.
