Does your college/university have it's own radio station? Does is broadcast more than just the football games? It seems this would be good hands on for anyone interested in a communications degree.

My school has a great radio station, and it's run just like a real radio station. We have a board of directors, program managers, business directors, music directors, and a sports director. We run on a set alternative format and we don't just run off tapes. It's hands-on experience, and for anyone looking to go into broadcasting, if your school doesn't run like a real radio station, keep looking.

I went to a small school. There was a radio station, but it was no longer in use. Though it was really handy when my friends and I threw an 80's party. We may or may not have gotten the keys covertly and borrowed a whole bunch of albums from the 80's to play at our party.

We have a radio station as well. The students host the shows and talk about on campus evens and you can buy a spot for your club or organization. They also play music, mostly college bands.

My current private school does not but the community college I went to before did. They broadcasted their own radio station. It was part of their technical; certificate in broadcasting.
