Many therapist positions are now being given to people with LSWs (license social worker) as opposed to people with a degree in psychology. Does anyone here think that's appropriate?

There really shouldn't be a problem for someone with a degree in psychology to find work, if they want to, they can even go into business for themselves.

I think that's the way it's been for a while. A psychology degree is more general then an LSW/LCSW. A licensed social worker has to have a Master's degree and they are trained in counseling.

The higher the degree, the better the job. Well, at least that's the way it's supposed to go. Sometimes you have a better chance if you at least have worked in the field and have some experience to go along with it.
