I always thought women's studies would be an interesting major but what in the world do you do with that when you graduate? Unless you continue to graduate school and become a professor, I'm not sure how you'd use it.

I'm sure you could work for some kind of a woman's lobby. Perhaps a pro choice or pro life group, or a salary equality group (men's salaries are still on average higher than women's I believe). Perhaps you could even teach high school history with that type of a degree.

Like Charlie said, you could do a couple of different things with a Women's Studies degree, including working for different feminist organizations. But probably the easiest/most obvious thing would be to teach college-- that's what all my WS major friends seems to want to do, anyway.

I think there are a lot of options related to social work that you could do, in addition to teaching or working with an organization. I would imagine you could also take that into something political if you wanted to. You might even be able to do something with journalism, especially with the internet.

You can go it to a lot of things like advocacy, anthropology, the arts and even law. To make the most of it you have to couple it with some other kind of degree.

I think that's a great summary of what you can do with a degree in women's studies. It does help if you get another degree as well but you don't necessarily have to. I can also see how it could help you become an author for both fiction and non-fiction.
