I have a friend who is thinking about minoring in French. We were talking using Rosetta Stone which seems to be really effective for learning languages. Does anyone know if this method is used in any foreign language college courses?
Isn't Rosetta Stone geared for home use? They may have a patent on their method or something. I have never heard about the method being used in college, but maybe it is. I used Rosetta Stone at home and it was really easy to learn and enjoyable. I suppose it depends on what language you choose.
I believe it was developed for individual study, but Rosetta Stone has become so popular that it's used in schools and universities. My guess is that they license it, but I'm not sure. I know someone who used Rosetta Stone to learn Japanese.
I have seen the commercials for Rosseta Stone on t.v., and wondered if the system was worth buying. I have been trying to teach myself Chinese, but I was using a Nintendo DS language coaching game. I picked up a few words, but writing the symbols kept me from progressing.
