I just moved into a new place. I don’t have much for decor; nothing on the walls, no nick knacks on the shelves and I barely have my furniture in place. I thought about finding and paying a design major to come over and help me out. Do you think Interior Design students do this as a side job?

I think if you can find an interior design student they would probably be more than happy to help you out although probably not for free.

Maybe I should look into hiring a design student for my place. We just bough new furniture but could use some professional help figuring out how to accessorize it.

They'd jump at the chance. Any art type majors love doing side jobs. Paying side jobs. It's like hiring an English major to edit your papers. Notice I say edit and not write. Big difference.

So, if a professional Interior Designer would charge $75 an hour, what would be a good price to pay a student designer? I am thinking $25/hr. And really my place is so small it would only take 1/2hr.
