For those of you here who are on your way to becoming a nurse: what inspired you to decided to become a nurse in the first place? Money? Helping people? Something else?

I am not a nurse nor am I studying to be one but for some folks, I'll bet it's the rise in the baby boomer generation that will need medical care. The medical field is the final lucrative field out there in the current economy, even though they are making cut backs too.

I will say for me it making an impact in somebody's life when they are in the worst of their times. It is nice also that it is a well rewarded field financially unlike teaching.
