My mum was a doctor. Back in high school, I had a desk mate who went on to study medicine after scoring really good grades. Surprisingly, I used to perform better than him in our first few years but tables turned along the way.
Had I listened to my parents' advise, I would be a practicing doctor but I chose to follow my heart and choose another career path.
Is any of you here a medical student and if so, how is the experience so far?

I'm not in medical school, far from it, but a friend of mine just started this past semester. He's not the most disciplined of fellows, but he has the heart required to be a doctor. I think that's what's keeping him in line and driving him forward. He says that so far, most of his training has been reading, reading, and more reading. There are a ton of tests and a ton of studying. But overall, he feels like he is where he belongs. He says it's difficult, but he doesn't question being there. In a way, I think he loves it for keeping him on a straight path.
