Is anyone going into phlebotomy (blood drawing)? I think it is a great field to go into but I don't like blood so I couldn't do it personally.

I read there is a great demand for them. Research performed by the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that over the next few years, the demand for phlebotomists surpasses the applicants. Yes, it sounds like a good field to get into if blood doesn't bother you.

I wonder what the pay is? Is it a job that requires a 4-year degree, or can you do a shorter program to learn it?

It wouldn't be my first choice for a job, but I think I could do it if I had to.

It is very risky because your constantly drawing blood and are at an even high risk for pokes then nurses are. Sometimes it is well compensated other times it isn't. I cant stand blood it wouldn't be for me either.
