Most of the respected and established online colleges have four or five areas of study in which they concentrate their degree programs. Often one of those areas is health care. Some stick to business oriented majors and others to technology subjects. But the larger ones with the academic resources to make it work will maintain several fields of study. Some of the traditional colleges have developed online programs but those are usually limited in scope compared to the university’s full curriculum and usually not oriented to the sciences.
Some of the online colleges will also offer certification programs in specific professional areas. There are online schools that offer very few full college degrees, but provide extensive programs of study designed to lead to certification in specified skill sets. Some of these are in the health care field.
Colorado Technical University Online offers bachelor’s degree in business administration specializing in health care management. They also have an MBA program with specialization in health care management. American InterContinental University (AIU) also has a bachelor’s degree in health care management. The same is true of Kaplan University, an online college that also offers a degree in nursing with a track to RN certification as well.
The largest online educational institution, University of Phoenix Online, has a comprehensive array of health care degrees from bachelor’s to doctorate. Below are their degree offerings:

Like some of the other online colleges, in recognition of the competitive business environment that has overtaken health care University of Phoenix has an MBA program with an emphasis on health care management. They also have two double master’s programs that would be tickets to real opportunity in the health care management field: the two nursing degrees, one matched up with a master’s in health administration and the other with an MBA.
Certification is another form of collegiate degree that can provide entry into the health care field at a lower level. With some experience at the entry level, many professionals return to an online college to obtain a higher degree in order to move up the management ladder. Online degrees are designed to require less time than traditional degrees and move you into the job market as efficiently as possible.
