The C computer programming language is one of the earliest languages to emerge and was the prevalent language in programming for years. It was developed at Bell Labs in the early 1970s as a programming tool for the UNIX platform. Later it expanded into wide uses on many different systems including DOS, the precursor to Windows. It is no longer the language of choice for most new developments, it is still found in many older software programs and its design has been borrowed for many subsequent languages. Later versions of C evolved, including ANSI – which stands for American National Standards Institute. It was one of the initial efforts at standardizing computer language to create one base version that could provide basic functions on all operating systems.

C is the predecessor to C++, which is a predominant language for many of today’s current software products. While C++ is a derivative of C, its basic design is fundamentally different. C programming takes a task and breaks it into a series of subtasks. C++ is object-oriented programming, a concept that utilizes abstractions of physical objects that are assigned characteristics and functional behavior in order to construct programming behavior. A little like working with building blocks, rather than strings of computations. C++ is widely used today: a quick look through job postings for computer or software engineers almost always requests experience in C++.

To some degree, C has been bypassed by its object-oriented successor, C++. Computer professionals will debate anything including whether or not it is necessary to learn C in order to move on to C++. Assuming that you are interested in learning the art and science of programming, it is probably good to know something about its history as well. Moreover, C is not just confined to the history bin. Its design is mimicked by many software programs and it is also the basis for portions of some of today’s operating systems. The theory and design for C is probably a valuable underpinning for the computer programming student.

You can find online tutorials for C programming that present the course in narrative form. A better choice might be an online school or technical academy that offers courses in C and other basic programming languages. Online colleges provide course materials and in most cases, a surprising amount of communications capability with the institutions’ faculty. If you’ve got questions, there are answers out there for you.

Everest College has an online course in computer information systems. One of the components is programming theory and will undoubtedly incorporate some information on C. The database component of this program will illustrate an application built around C or one of its derivatives.

Capella University has a bachelor’s program in information technology that includes core courses in the fundamentals of software development. As the curriculum moves along, there are courses in database design and management, and object-oriented programming. In all of these courses, you will encounter C programming uses and C++ as well. It is difficult to find a course specifically dedicated to C because it has become a legacy program in the eyes of many. C programming retains its value for today’s programming student as a historical perspective and an early model for many of the current programming tools.

One of the indications that a profession has come of age is when academic pundits start arguing about what defines that profession. Computer science is a premier example of that phenomenon. Some people feel that computer science is a catchall phrase that embodies information technology (IT), software engineering, computer engineering and the microelectronics that make computers light up and hard drives spin.

Purists maintain that computer science is only the theory behind computation: the algorithms, the flow of data through the chips and into the applications. It’s a debate for a coffeehouse or a cocktail party. For people who are interested in entering the field, computer science is the study of computers and their component parts. While you can find college majors in computer science, the course load will include software design, database functions and programming. So, for purposes of this article, we will look at the master’s programs in a variety of computer related professions.

Online colleges provide the best framework for focusing on computer science. Their master’s programs include computer science as a major, along with information technology and business-oriented, integrated courses of study. Online study takes a pragmatic approach to giving the student the skills to enter the profession. Online master’s degrees are designed to give the student leadership skills for a highly placed position in his industry of choice. Many online master’s programs in computer science are for working businessmen and women who are seeking to climb the professional ladder.

University of Phoenix Online has an interesting combination of master’s programs in computer science. They have a master’s in information systems; a master’s in information systems management; and an intriguing combination of an MBA with specialization in technology management. Technology management means handling networks and that’s going to incorporate a lot of computer science.

Capella University has four online master’s programs in information technology with specializations that spell out clear career tracks:

Information Technology

General Information Security

Network Architecture and Design

Project Management and Leadership

System Design and Programming

Kennedy- Western University has an online master’s degree in computer science available. To provide an idea of what computer science means at this college, here are the core courses:

Programming Languages

Computer Science Theory

Systems Architecture

Operating Systems I

Relational Databases

Analysis of Algorithms

Object-Oriented Design

Compiler Design

Software Engineering

Artificial Intelligence

Data Communications Expert

Systems Development

Human Computer Interface Design

It’s evident that software and data are an important part of the master’s degree in computer science at Kennedy-Western. Also required is a thesis prep course and the thesis itself, which will mean lots of interaction with the faculty, via email and phone.

Boston University has a master’s in computer information systems that is taught online. The two areas of specialization are database and knowledge management, and information systems security. Information systems and information technology seem to be the terms that have supplanted computer science in a number of academic institutions. If your interests lie in the physical components of computers, you can often find a master’s program in electrical engineering with computer emphasis. But for many of the online institutions, the masters’ programs in technology are focused on what businesses can accomplish with computers because that is where the leadership needs are.

Finding individual courses in computer science can be something of a challenge with online colleges. Their approach to computer science and to most other academic disciplines is to offer an educational package that, upon completion, will provide significant value in the job market. Some large universities provide individual courses through their online or extension programs, since they are designed for their professors to teach on an a la carte basis. American Intercontinental University offers individual courses in web design, computer information systems, programming and a few other areas.

If you are looking for a single class on a narrow, specialized topic you might have better luck consulting large universities’ online services. If you are looking for a comprehensive course of learning about computer science, you can find one at almost any level of concentration and academic achievement. There are online courses for certification in various areas of computer science that take a period of months.

Collegiate degrees in computer science and related fields are available online at every level, from an IT associate’s to a doctorate level IT degree. Online degrees generally take less time to achieve than their campus-based counterparts: a bachelor’s degree is usually obtainable in two to three years. The length of time required will be dictated to some extent by the number of transferable college credits you’ve earned. However, online degrees are achieved in less time under any circumstance due to the accelerated methods of study that the online colleges have available.

Courses for certification status in certain aspects of computer science are available from such schools as CDI College. They specialize in this sort of teaching program in that they have nine choices for study in the area of computer networking alone. Topics of specialization include internet security and network administrator. Their training programs lead to certification for specific specialties. They have five options in the programming analyst area, all focused on the web in some fashion. You can also find online certification courses in specific program languages such as C++ or specific server protocols such as Sun’s Solaris.

Beyond the training programs, there are a wealth of computer science programs that lead to college degrees. Kaplan University has six associate’s degree programs in computer information systems that would probably take eighteen months or less to complete. Areas of specialization include databases, Java programming, the web and wireless networking.

Kaplan has a similar number of bachelor’s programs in information technology. One of the more intriguing choices at Kaplan is the bachelor’s in IT with a specialization in multimedia and animation, which ought to lead to some imaginative opportunities in web page construction.

Computer science is one of the most popular areas of study online because so many working professionals need additional education in the field in order to advance in their career. You can find the right combination of courses and course programs to fit your needs with some dedicated click work.

In its broadest definition, computer science includes a number of academic specialties. Study of a computer’s functions begins with electronics and electrical engineering. Included as a matter of necessity is the study of computer operating systems: that path will lead before too long to software and databases. At that point, computer science branches into information technology (IT); somewhere between computer science and information technology you have the world of networking. In many universities, master’s degrees in information technology are available, and also in both computer science and networking. This holds true in for online education as well. We’ll take a look at all of them.

A bachelor’s degree in computer science is considered, in some academic circles, as a starting point in the sense that it provides the base education for a lot of career choices. Boston University’s Metropolitan College has an online degree in computer science that may allow the graduate “to prepare for careers in medicine, law, education, physical and life sciences, social sciences, and the humanities.” That’s a pretty broad spectrum of choices.

Boston University’s online master’s degree in computer science is also called a master’s in computer information systems, with two areas of specialization. One is in the area of security: providing the graduate with the ability to develop “solutions to guarantee secure networks and computer systems…and the ability to identify, develop, and implement highly secure networks that support organizational goals.”

The other specialization at BU online is in database and knowledge management, which provides “the skills to integrate information technology with business problems and opportunities…and a thorough understanding of technological issues in addition to business concepts and fundamentals.”

This is an excellent illustration of the fashion in which a master’s in computer science leads the professional down an avenue of specialization. Online master’s programs are often the answer for people working in the industry that want to move higher up the ladder into management. As in most professional environments, a higher level of education means a higher degree of focus on one component of the business or another.

University of Phoenix Online has a number of master’s programs in the information technology field. One is an MBA with a specialization in information technology – an example of business acumen being married to computer science skills. Kaplan University has the same online combination. University of Phoenix’s other master’s degrees involving computer science include a master’s degree in information systems, and a master’s in information systems management. Information systems in this instance almost always mean computer networks. Again, higher educational achievement leads to more focused specialization.

Colorado Technical University has an online master’s degree in information systems security. This academic specialty is really about securing computer networks and the data that flows over them. Capella University’s online master’s program in IT offers the following networking specialties:

Information Technology General Information Security Network Architecture and Design Project Management and Leadership System Design and Programming

Master’s programs online are an efficient opportunity to gain the educational background for your next professional step. They often take less time than the programs at traditional universities, and they do not conflict with working hours. Clearly, you can find a master’s in computer science online that will take you in any direction you choose.

Distance education has expanded thanks to the internet. There are a variety of options provided by quite a few accredited colleges, who offer computer science degrees. Plenty of traditional colleges and universities have off-campus extensions. While some of these extensions are physical locations, branches, away from the main campus, some schools expand their offerings online. Many new opportunities have recently been added on the internet by online educational institutions, including courses in technology.

Bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees in information technology and computer science are available through online colleges and universities. All of the principal classes that traditional schools provide can be taken online if you are just starting your post-secondary education. Distance learning is convenient for individuals who already work full-time and want to complete their education they may have already started. Taking a few courses can refresh and update your knowledge if you want to keep up to date with new computer science related technology and developments.

Computer science degree programs offered by Warren National University include bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate courses of study. Warren also offers degrees in software engineering, information management, information systems, and management technology. Sometimes your work experience and credits earned prior to enrollment can count towards your online degree.

The University of Phoenix offers individual courses, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. The bachelor’s in science degree for information technology includes courses in the internet, databases, networks and telecommunication, programming and operating systems and business systems development. The individual courses are available for those who just want to stay current with computer science developments. There are six classes to choose from under networks and telecommunications, and another six under computer information systems.

Kaplan University offers both degree and certificate programs. There are fifteen different computer science related focuses. Some of these are programming, networking, the internet and software development. Capella University offers a bachelor’s degree in information technology and the following master’s degrees: information security; network architecture and design; project management and leadership; system design and programming; and general information technology. Capella also has certification programs for Professional Project Management and Information Security Professional

If you take the time to explore the options, you will find that almost any specialization or academic level in computer science can be obtained online. You will have the option of choosing class times and course loads that will work for you. Even though it is called distance learning, communicating with professors is as simple as sending an email, so there is no need to feel far away.

Most online educational institutions offer classes in technology. Schools that are geared more towards the healthcare or business industries may not have very many options in technology studies. These schools will often offer a degree in information technology or have certificate courses in network information security. Other colleges or universities will offer a broader range of choices within the field of computer science.

There are differences in the phraseology of degree programs between schools is evident. For instance, Kaplan University offers associate’s degrees in information systems with specialties in networking, Java, wireless networking, and web development. They do not, however, have a degree program specifically called “computer science.” The bachelor offerings at Kaplan in information technology have the following concentration options: multimedia and animation, programming, database, networking and web development. A computer science degree may offer basic knowledge that touches on many of these areas, but the degrees at Kaplan are more in depth and job focused.

Boston College’s Metropolitan University offers a bachelor’s degree in computer science online, as well as a software development certification program. They also offer a graduates program in computer information systems, which concentrates on information systems security.

The online program at Boston College also offers a master’s degree in administrative studies with a concentration in electronic commerce, systems and technology. This degree program has a narrow focus, and would better qualify you for a job at a top notch online company like Google or Ebay than a general computer science degree.

The University of Phoenix Online also as an array of computer science-related degree offerings. Bachelor offerings include business with a focus in e-business, business with a focus in information systems, and information technology. They also have a technology management master’s program. Other master’s degree offerings that the University of Phoenix provides include systems and systems management.

CDI College offers certification programs, as opposed to degree programs, that are computer science related. These certificates include: Network and Internet Security Specialist, CISCO certified network administrator, Network and Internet Support Specialist for Windows 2000, Microsoft Office Specialist, Office Information Technology Specialist, Wed Designer, and Computer Business Applications Specialist.

Online computer science education choices are plentiful. Regardless of the school, online classes are typically very efficient. It might only take two or three years to obtain your bachelor’s or master’s degree. Certification can be had in merely months.

It has been said that ours is the information age. This can be interpreted to mean that our economy, as well as our society, is built around information. There is, undoubtedly, some truth to this notion. Computers and the Internet ruled the stock market for a period in the nineties, and the consumer market is certainly dominated by electronic products that deliver or receive information in one format or another. Computer science and information technology have become primary focal points in our higher education system, and they play a prominent role in many of the new career opportunities that are being developed today.

The advent of the Internet and the spawning of all the chip-driven, electronic devices that have become part of our social fabric are reflected in the evolving curricula found in higher education. The traditional sciences – physics, chemistry, and the mathematics that accompanies them – are increasingly focused on biotech, nanotech and info tech. Schools of engineering are devoting resources to electrical engineering which, in turn, becomes computer science and the electronics that make our computer networks function.

Technology is finding its place in our schools – as teaching devices in the lower grades, and as academic departments in higher education. Today, you can find college degrees in information technology and many spin-offs of that discipline. Networking, wireless technology, the Internet and all of its new developments and markets – all these things are part of the information technology orbit. Computer science, as an academic discipline, really includes the electronics involved on the cutting edge of new product development. This includes, not only consumer products but, the introduction of new concepts in medical and industrial fields.

Universities and colleges are devoting resources to academics in these fields. For those of us who see a new area of career opportunity and wish to go in that direction, technology is often best pursued at online colleges. People who are working and want to obtain degrees or certifications that will provide job options in technology should explore the opportunities – and efficiency – of the online educational institutions.

Schools, such as University of Phoenix Online, have an entire department devoted to technology. Working professionals, who want to apply their previously-accrued college credits to a degree in information technology, can find the following degree programs at University of Phoenix: Associate of Arts in Information Technology. Associate of Arts in Information Technology/Networking. BS in Business/Information Systems. BS in Business/e-Business. BS in Information Technology. BS in Information Technology/Information System Security. BS in Information Technology/Visual Communications. MBA/Technology Management. MIS – Master of Information Systems. Doctor of Management/Information Systems and Technology.

Kaplan University can offer you 6 associate’s degrees and 6 bachelor’s degrees with specialization in different information technology areas. Among those are: AAS in Computer Information Systems. AASCIS/Java. AASCIS/Networking. AASCIS/Programming. AASCIS/Web Development. AASCIS/Wireless Networking. BS in Information Technology. BSIT/Database. BSIT/Multimedia and Animation. BSIT/Networking. BSIT/Programming. BSIT/Web Development.

Kaplan’s associate’s programs can move you onto a new career path in less than 18 months!

Colorado Technical University has an online program with four information technology degrees at the bachelor’s level, and two technology degrees at the master’s level: B.S. in Business Administration – Information Technology. B.S. in Information Technology – Software Systems Engineering. B.S. in Information Technology – Network Management. B.S. in Information Technology – Security. M.S. in Management – Information Systems Security. M.S. in Management – Information Technology Management.

There are many areas of expertise within the field of technology that are in demand today.

There are an extraordinary number of schools that provide education programs today in the field of technology. Generally, in the educational world, technology is loosely separated into the fields of computer science and information technology (IT).

Computer science learning programs, at the college level, grew out of the electrical engineering departments at many schools. Many universities still issue degrees in electrical engineering with a computer science specialty. But, the point is that the term “computer science” covers the science of all types of technology hardware, from routers, to fiber optic switches, to laptop screens.

Information technology programs include the study of computer data and its transmission in many forms. The Internet and its functions fall under information technology, as do computer networks and databases. Digital graphics is a form of information technology. The two terms divide an enormous body of learning into the loosely defined areas of hardware and the data that the hardware puts out.

Virtually all community colleges will have associate’s degree programs in computer science, information technology or other academic spin-offs. Traditional universities also provide majors in computer science and in information technology. You can also find a good deal of specialization and a much more direct course to a degree through an online college.

There are institutes and schools that specialize in certification courses for many of the technical support jobs that make technology systems work. CDI College is an online school with perhaps 20 different courses of study in computer networking, programming and maintenance. Everest College is a school with nine campuses and an online program that offers courses in such topics as computer information systems, advanced microcomputer applications, and applied office technology. These online schools and others like them focus on the field of certification for specific technology skill sets.

Westwood College is an online school with 2 technology bachelor’s programs: information systems security and computer network management. Their 2 associate’s degree programs in technology specialize in computer network engineering and technical management.

University of Phoenix Online has a series of bachelor’s and master’s degrees that center on IT, many combined with a concentration on business: Associate of Arts in Information Technology. Associate of Arts in IT/Networking. Associate of Arts in IT/Visual Communication. Bachelor of Science in Business/ e-Business. Bachelor of Science in Business/Information Systems. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Bachelor of Science in IT/Information System Security. Bachelor of Science in IT/Visual Communication. MBA/Technology Management. MIS – Master of Information Systems. Doctor of Management/Information Systems and Technology.

Boston University’s online affiliate Metropolitan College offers a bachelor’s in computer science and a bachelor’s in management information systems. Their master’s programs include computer science/security and computer information systems/security. Those two degrees provide a clear illustration of the split between computer science (hardware) and IT (data).

Kaplan University is another online institute with a comprehensive set of educational technology programs. They have 6 associate’s degrees and 6 bachelor’s degrees in such majors as database, web development, networking computer information systems, and wireless networking.

These are a selection of online technology institutes that provide a wide spectrum of educational opportunity. Select your field of interest, and then go shopping for a technology institute that will teach you what you need to know.

Careers in technology can be found at every professional level and, today, you can find courses taught for every type of job. For purposes of discussion, it helps to divide the field of technology into two roughly drawn areas: computer science and information technology.

Computer science is the study of technology’s hardware: what the component parts are, how the parts are built, and how the parts work. This can apply as much to a network router as it applies to a computer. Information technology deals with the use of the computer’s output: digital data in an assortment of formats. Thus, information technology (IT) includes the functions of the Internet, computer networks, software design, database security, and so forth.

Colleges and universities have developed curricula for many subdivisions of these two broad areas. Degree levels ranging from an associate’s to a doctorate can be found for computer science, information technology and related fields of study. About 40% of America’s colleges and universities offer some form of extension learning or online education program, and there are many colleges that function solely online as well. So, availability for technology schools is widespread – local community colleges, universities, or online schools all have technology programs.

There are courses of study for jobs in technology that do not lead a college diploma. 9- to 18-month programs that result in certification for the student can be found in areas such as network maintenance, office software, computer maintenance and other technical support positions. Examples of these types of certificates can be found at CDI College: CISCO Certified Network Administrator. Network Administrator. Network and Internet Security Specialist. Network and Internet Support Specialist. Network Support Specialist. Programmer/Network Support Analyst. Computer Programmer/Web Developer. Programmer Analyst/Internet Solutions Developer. Programmer Analyst/Web Developer. Computer Business Applications Specialist. Computer Programmer.

While CDI focuses on certification programs, Capella University is an online college at the other end of the educational spectrum, offering four master of science degree programs in information technology: MS in IT – General Information Technology. MS in IT – Information Security. MS in IT – Network Architecture and Design. MS in IT – System Design and Programming.

Kaplan University fills in the middle ground with 6 associate’s degrees and 6 bachelor’s degrees in information technology. Among their fields of specialization are the following: AAS in Computer Information Systems. AASCIS/Java. AASCIS/Networking. AASCIS/Programming. AASCIS/Wireless Networking. BS in Information Technology. BSIT/Database. BSIT/Multimedia and Animation. BSIT/Networking. BSIT/Programming. BSIT/Web Development.

Generally, online technology degrees will take less time to complete than those offered at a traditional university or college. If you have college credits from previous experience, some of them may be transferable. An associate’s degree can take as little as 13 months and, a bachelor’s, 2 to 3 years.

The range of educational options and professional opportunities is wide and getting wider all the time. Credentialing programs are becoming very specific, with online training programs available in certain computer languages or code writing. College degrees are also being developed that focus on an increasing number of specialties, such as microelectronics and fiber optic networking. There is an option to match almost any level of initiative and area of interest.

For educational purposes, it is often convenient to separate the computer technology field into two areas: computer science and information technology. The reason for this is simply that the educational institutions seem to have made this division in their academic designs for courses of study.

Academically, computer science seems to have sprung from many schools’ electrical engineering departments. In some cases, the computer sciences remain there and a school may offer a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with specialization in computer science. Other universities – and online colleges – have dedicated entire departments and/or separate courses of study to computer science.

The field of information technology (IT) has developed as data generated by computers has become essential in the everyday economic functions of this country and most others. Information technology pervades our everyday lives. The Internet is a manifestation of information technology; as is the ATM machine, e-mail, the automated gas pump at the filling station, and the timed stoplights on our boulevards. Electronically transmitted data has become an essential social reality.

Getting an education in these fields and seeking a related career is a good bet on the future. Degrees in computer science and in information technology are available at every degree level, from associate to doctorate.

There are also degrees in associated fields, such as networking (for IT) and microelectronics (for computers). Traditional colleges and universities all have academic resources committed to these fields of study. However, as the traditional college experience has become costly and remains time-consuming, increasing numbers of people are turning to online education as a practical alternative.

Accredited online colleges have become a resource for people wishing to switch careers or to climb the ladder in their current profession. For young people who must work to support themselves, online education has also become an alternative.

The University of Phoenix Online orients its technology courses through its school of business. As an example of what is available to the would- be student, here are the technology degrees offered by University of Phoenix Online: BS in Business/e-Business. BS in Business/Information Systems. BS in Information Technology. BS in Information Technology/Information System Security. BS in Information Technology/Visual Communications. MBA/Technology Management. MIS – Master of Information Systems. Doctor of Management/Information Systems and Technology.

There are also IT degrees available from Kaplan University at both the associate’s and bachelor’s level. Their two-year associate’s programs include degrees in the following areas: AAS in Computer Information Systems. AASCIS/Java. AASCIS/Networking. AASCIS/Programming. AASCIS/Web Development.

Kaplan’s Bachelor Information Technology program includes: BS in Information Technology. BSIT/Database. BSIT/Multimedia and Animation. BSIT/Networking. BSIT/Programming. BSIT/Web Development.

These are only two of the many online opportunities out there for you to begin exploring your degree in information technology. These degrees can be achieved in less time than is required at a traditional university. It’s an investment in your future that is worth looking into.

These courses are also called distance education programs. Though being off campus or distance learning, these courses are also mainstream source of training and education. A number of well-established online colleges provide courses for a number of vigorous technology programs.

Degrees or programs in Technology usually revolve around the areas of computer science and IT. These online or distance learning schools provide education in both the above mentioned subjects. The technology degrees offered by these colleges are available for every degree level such as : Associate’s degrees in technology, Bachelor’s degrees in technology, Master’s degrees in technology, Doctorate degrees in technology, Certification courses in technology.

To start with, an associate’s or bachelor’s degree is a good course if you are a beginner. Professionals in the IT industry usually keep updating themselves by constantly doing the latest courses and obtaining higher degrees. The online programs are of immense value to these professionals. Besides growth in the career, these courses also help in boosting confidence in the person.

Kaplan University is a very widely known online school. It offers a number of comprehensive courses in the field of technology. The Associate’s of Science in Computer Information Systems degrees include: AAS in Computer Information Systems, AASCIS/Java, AASCIS/Networking, AASCIS/Programming, AASCIS/Web Development, AASCIS Wireless Networking.

Kaplan University’s Bachelor’s of Science in Information Technology degrees include: Advanced Start BS in Information Technology, BS in Information Technology, BSIT/Database, BSIT/Multimedia and Animation, BSIT/Networking, BSIT/Programming, BSIT/Web Development. These degrees cater to various jobs in the IT industry. This shows the range of jobs and degrees that are found in the technology world today. In Information technology, networking is an entirely different field totally separate from programming and software yet plays a very integral part in both. Web development is another field which is so big that it could he made into a totally separate subject. Java is just one aspect of Internet and animation courses. Database management and database security though appears similar are two different fields altogether. For those interested technology offers a vast spectrum of opportunities in earning a degree or a livelihood.

West wood college online offers a variety of degrees. They are associate’s degree in computer networking and a Bachelor’s degree in computer network Management. One can earn the first degree to enter into the field of technology and later with some experience can go for the updated Bachelor’s program. The Bachelor’s program in Information systems security of the same college empowers you with the knowledge of database protection. To acquire knowledge in an area of technology, which is, totally different from the above mentioned, one can opt for Associate degree in software design.

Some of the important online courses for the technology industry is offered by warren National University Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and Software engineering one two of them.

If you are interested in Kennedy-Western, they offer a Bachelor’s in Technology Management. For those having an interest in the technology and business, they can opt for a Bachelor’s in E-business.

At traditional on campus colleges it takes 2 years to earn an Associate’s degree and four to earn a bachelor’s degree. In online colleges the course duration are short. That is why many students transfer credits from former college classes into these new courses. With accelerated learning techniques it takes about a year to year and half to complete an Associate’s degree and about 2-3 years for a Bachelor’s degree.

There has been a great deal of concentration on technology in the online schools, particularly those centered around computer science. Degree programs for online schools in the field of engineering range from associates to masters in various areas of the field. For people who are already working in the engineering industry, online colleges offer individual courses to give them the skills needed to further their careers. If you are a programmer, for example, you can obtain a certificate in C++ programming or earn a technology degree through distance learning if you need it for a new job prospect. Even if you are a beginner to the computer languages, you can still get a certificate in the field to enhance your skills and learn on the job.

For the more traditional engineering fields, you can take engineering courses in the areas of civil or electrical engineering, both of which will give you excellent opportunities to get started in these fields. You can obtain associates degrees online from engineering schools that provide the introductory material for these professions and will also allow you to earn a bachelors while taking on an entry level job in the engineering industry. For working professionals who wish to further their formal education, there are schools that provide masters programs in electrical or mechanical engineering.

In the computer sciences and technology education, you’ll find an array of options for online programs. At Kaplan University alone, there are six online associates degrees that include majors in computer information systems, Java, network administration, programming, web development and wireless networking. Those are just the beginner levels of online education, but they can often help you get your foot in the door of a technology company. Kaplan also offers a distance learning program for a bachelors degree in information technology (IT). The areas of specialization in this online program include database, multimedia, information management and web development. This is just a small list at one single school, there are many more options available at many different online schools.
